Norway-based Telenor Group,
which recently acquired one of two mobile operating licenses from the
government of Myanmar, has unveiled an employee recruitment programme
that aims to create 3000 jobs between August and December.
"Telenor will recruit about 3000
employees. In total 2000 will be employed by Telenor’s partners,
distributors and vendors, and 1000 under Telenor’s office," said
Tipayarat Kaewsringarm, who is in charge of human resources for Telenor
Myanmar.
She said the recruitment programme has
three phases in order to be aligned with its business plan. The first
phase was launched on August 13 and carry on until the end of September.
"The first phase will focus on the
company’s immediate need for experienced, management-level candidates to
build up a strong leadership team that will be responsible for
developing strategies and managing the company’s commercial launch and
roll-out," said Telnor in a recent press release.
The second and third phases are to be carried out between October and December, and it will aim to recruit telecom and technology experts and professionals.
"In our recruitment, we will seek the
enthusiastic people who can meet the challenges and share the values of
Telenor," added Tipayarat.
Telenor has also planned to launch the Telenor Myanmar Academy, a centre for management and skills training for Telenor employees.
"Telenor Myanmar is committed to be a
long-term investor in Myanmar and a local partner in driving the
modernisation of the country’s strategic ICT infrastructure," Tipayarat
said in the press release.
