The Japan International Cooperation Agency will use its overseas investment program to help finance the development of the Thilawa special economic zone in Myanmar, officials have said.
The move is designed to promote the economic zone development project conducted jointly by Japanese and Myanmar companies near Yangon.
The decision to use JICA funds was made at the first meeting of a Japanese ministerial panel set up to discuss ways to promote infrastructure exports by domestic companies.
