As the eighth arrival of aircraft in the airline’s fleet, a new Air Bus A 319 airplane bought by Myanmar Airways International (MAI), the only state-owned airline of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, landed at Yangon International Airport yesterday.
MAI airline operates direct flights to Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Gara, Siam Reap, Phnom Penh and Guangzhou from Y a n g o n a n d ma n a g e s Bangkok-Singapore-Bangkok and Mandalay-Gara- Mandalay flights. It is planned to operate direct flights to Bangkok, Singapore and Kunming.
At the end of this year, there will be a non-stop flight to Hong Kong. The newly-arrived Air Bus A 319 with a seating capacity of 123 is suitable to operate a chartered plane.
Plans are underway to provide chartered plane services not only for international flights but also for domestic flights- Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon-Bagan and Yangon- Heho.
