Shipyards are considering a joint venture with a company from either Japan or Vietnam, sources said.
The two companies being considered are Japan’s Tomosada Corporation S.A and Vietnam’s Myint Mo Oo Company, which is based in Myanmar.
Kyi Soe, director general of Myanmar Shipyards, said 27 companies have submitted proposals but only these two were considered.
Kyi Soe said the joint venture is expected to be finalized next year.
