Over 250 foreign companies converging in Yangon for the 1st New Myanmar Invest Summit

The New Myanmar Investment Summit 2012, organised by Singapore based CMT, opens on 20 June in Yangon.  Over 250 foreign companies are attending this timely summit themed "Business Strategies & Successful JVs"  (Foreign Investment Law Amendment Bill).

Dr. Kan Zaw, Deputy Minister, Ministry of National Planning & Economic Development will give the official opening address, followed by a keynote address on ‘New Investment Law & Its Opportunities for Foreign Investors’ by U Aung Naing Oo, DG at Ministry of National Planning & Economic Development, (DICA).

The agenda include sessions on investment prospects in various sectors like agri business, construction, corporate, infrastructure, banking & finance as well as updates by DG from Ministry of Mines and Ministry of Energy.

Participating foreign companies are looking forward to meet local industry players, entrepreneurs, agents or distributors keen to establish joint venture or partnership with them.

The 2 day summit  also features a Post-Conference Workshop on "Structuring JVs & Agency & Distribution Agreements under the New Investment Law" led by experienced legal attorney Alessio Polastri of P&A Asia. The workshop will spotlight on:
