Singapore delegates explore business opportunities in Myanmar

A delegation of 115 from 74 Singapore-based companies will visit Myanmar's business capital, Yangon, and the political capital of Nya Pi Taw from Feb 12 to 18.

Led by the International Enterprise (IE) Singapore and the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), the delegates come from many sectors, including construction, education, finance, infrastructure and logistics.
The group will call on President Thein Sein and meet representatives from key business associations, including the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI). The delegates will network and discuss business collaborations with local businesses and government leaders during the mission.

A key highlight of the visit will be the Singapore-Myanmar Investment Seminar, held at the Myanmar International Convention Centre in Nya Pi Taw on Feb 15. The seminar will provide companies with more information about the government's plans for economic development, investment policies and import and export licensing initiatives.
