Myanmar to hold Miss Myanmar 2012 competition in Yangon

Myanmar will hold Miss Myanmar 2012 competition in Yangon aimed at promoting tourism industry in the country and enhancing the interest of citizens in the tourism sector, according to an event organizer of the competition told Xinhua Monday.

Under the supervision of Myanmar Travel Board (MTB), the competition, organized by the Myanmar Tourism Services (MTS) Co, will be held the contest on the grand scale on March 25, featuring dance shows, the performances of the famous vocalists, comedians, lucky draw program and other activities.
The contestants aged between 18 and 25 having good talent, general knowledge on tourism industry and English language, were allowed to compete with three kinds of dresses involving traditional dresses to represent one of the national ethnics, sports and evening wear.
The winners will be titled as Miss Myanmar, 1st Runner up, 2nd Runner up and other consolation prizes with cash awards will be presented to the outstanding contestants.
Of the titles, the winner will be assigned as a tourism Ambassador and will have the chance to attend international travel and trade shows.
Myanmar has held such contests since 2010 and Khin Yu Pa had entitled as 2011 tourism ambassador while Ju Ju Kay had entitled as 2010 tourism ambassador of the country.
