Myanmar-Malaysia expo to be held in Yangon

Myanmar-Malaysia products and services expo will be held in Yangon on Sept. 15 to 18 to boost bilateral trade between the two countries, sources said on Monday.

Organized by the Myanmar Industrial Association and the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia ( ACCCIM), the expo will include about 150 booths across 16 sectors.

According to official statistics, Myanmar-Malaysia bilateral trade in the fiscal year 2009-10 amounted to 312 million U.S. dollars.

Malaysia stands as Myanmar's 6th largest foreign trade partner after Thailand, Singapore, China, India and China's Hong Kong.

Malaysia's investment in Myanmar amounted to 975.097 million dollars as of May this year.
